<p>Britain's newspapers went to town yesterday with their coverage on the news of the death of Baroness Thatcher, we look at their front pages.</p>

<p>Baroness Thatcher who was the UK’s Premier from 1979 -1990 is largely remembered as a hugely divisive and polarising political figure. </p>
<p></p>
<p>Her government was the first to introduce a new anti-gay law in 100 years in the guise of Section 28.</p>
<p></p>
<p>Section 28 of the Local Government Act 1988, prohibited the ‘promotion’ of homosexuality in schools.</p>
<p></p>
<p>The Act was enacted on May 24th 1988 during Thatcher’s leadership. Section 28 was eventually repealed in 2001.</p>

<p>In spite of the controversy surrounding Section 28, Baroness Thatcher did support legalising homosexuality In the 1960s and in 1967 voted in favour of the decriminalising of homosexuality in England and Wales.</p>
