<p>'Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead', made famous by gay icon Judy Garland looks likely to enter into the UK’s official top 40 singles chart this Sunday in response to Baroness Thatcher’s death. </p>

<p>The song is currently riding high in the iTunes chart at Number 2.</p>

<p>Margaret Thatcher died “peacefully” yesterday (8th April) at the age of 87, following a stroke according to her family.</p>

<p>During Thatcher’s tenure as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, her government introduced the highly contentious Section 28, which prohibited the “promotion” of homosexuality in schools.</p>

<p>In spite of the controversy surrounding Section 28, Thatcher supported legalising homosexuality In the 1960s and in 1967 voted in favour of the decriminalising of homosexuality in England and Wales.</p>

<p>Judy Garland originally recorded Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead in 1939. The song is originally from the motion picture Wizard Of Oz.</p>

<p>A Facebook group was created, where around 4300 people have joined which encourages members to download the song in order to get it to Number 1 this weekend.</p>
