Tucson Pride is a member of the Consolidated Association of Prides, Inc (CAPI) and InterPride (International Association of Prides). Locally Tucson Pride is a member of the Tucson GLBT Chamber of Commerce. Tucson Pride has helped sponsor events in the past for Wingspan, Southern Arizona Aids Foundation and has supported the Turnabout for TIHAN fundraiser. In addition we support other Arizona Pride Organizations located in Casa Grande, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Sedona, Lake  Havasu City and Bisbee.

Pride History Week is celebrated in June each year. During this week Tucson Pride supports local businesses in promoting events commemorating the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and the death of Richard Heakin, here in Tucson in 1976.

Pride on Parade’s mission is to celebrate the pride and diversity of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer community. This is a time for all members our community as well as allies to unite and be proud of who they are. Following the parade there is a free block party.

Tucson’s first Pride Parade was held on Sunday, June 24th, 2000 on 4th Avenue.  Over the years, with a few exceptions, the Pride Parade has remained on historic 4th Avenue along with the Block Party which has become a Tucson tradition.  This, along with all parades on 4th Avenue, ended in 2010 due to streetcar construction.  After 4 years, TLGA/Tucson Pride, with it’s partners the North 4th Avenue Merchants Association and Sky Bar, in conjunction with the City of Tucson, proudly returned “Pride on Parade” to it’s traditional home.  On Saturday, October 10th, 2015 at 6pm Tucson Pride is proud to announce that the 15th annual Tucson LGBT Pride parade is booked with the City of Tucson for yet another year on 4th Avenue.

“Pride on Parade” 2014 was a historic event beyond being the first parade back on 4th Avenue following street car construction in that 2014 featured 45 contingents, more contingents in the parade than in any other in Tucson Pride’s 15 year history of having this event.

TLGA/Tucson Pride encourages and invites everyone to participate in the 2015 “Pride on Parade.”
