NEWS: Remembrance Event For 14th Anniversary of Soho Bombing

<p>An act of remembrance will take place on the 30th April from 6PM to mark the 14th year since a bomb ripped through the Admiral Duncan in the heart of Soho.</p> <p>By Newsdesk | 24th April 2013 </p> <p></p> <p> </p> <p><img src="http://www.thegayuk.com/communities/8/004/009/928/388/images/4591243518.jpg" width="460" height="271" alt="C Ford" title="C Ford"/></p> <p></p> <p>In April 1999 a bomb containing 1,500 nails, planted by David Copeland exploded in the Admiral Duncan, in Soho, London, killing three people and injuring more than 70 others. </p> <p></p> <p>Andrea Dykes, John Light and Nick Moore were killed when the bomb, planted by Copeland, exploded without warning in the popular Soho pub. </p> <p></p> <p>Copeland is serving six concurrent life sentences and in 2007 the High Court ruled that he must serve 50 years.</p> <p></p> <p>The Remembrance, will be held at the Admiral Duncan, Old Compton Street and St. Anne’s Garden on Wardour Street in Soho.</p> <p></p> <p>Mark Healey founder of the 17-24-30.org, Rev. Simon Buckley and members of Nick Moore’s family will speak at the event.</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p>ORDER OF EVENTS:</p> <p> </p> <p>Meet in St Anne's Garden, Wardour St from 5pm onwards. We will prepare St Anne's Garden for the Act of Remembrance that will take place at 6pm - setting up a small PA system, tidying the area by the Triangular Bench and the three cherry trees.</p> <p> </p> <p>Once set up - some volunteers will stay in the gardens to keep an eye on equipment etc. Whilst others will go to The Admiral Duncan to join those gathering.</p> <p> </p> <p>5.45 Mark and Rev Buckley - if the Lord Mayor is attending will meet her at St Anne's and walk her round to meet those gathering at the Admiral Duncan.</p> <p> </p> <p>6.00 Everyone should have arrived by now.</p> <p> </p> <p>6.15/20 Walk round to St Anne's Gardens. We don't have a permit to close the road but the local police will manage this. We may need some volunteers to act as stewards along the route to help assist.</p> <p> </p> <p>Some people in Wheel-chairs may need help entering St Anne's Garden as it is up a flight of steps.
