<p></p><p>Last year there was speculation that openly gay actor Matt Bomer might be in the running for the highly anticipated film adaptation of E L James’s 50 Shades Of Grey.</p><p></p><p>However, Jamie Dornan, 31, who is number 1 in our <a href="http://www.thegayuk.com/magazine/4574334751/Top-10-Hottest-Irish-Actors/5442244">Hottest Irish Actors article</a>, is the former beau of Keira Knightley and has gotten his kit off numerous times over the years as a Calvin Klein model.</p><p></p><p>He’s now moved into acting, with roles in Marie Antoinette and most notably starred in ABC’S Once Upon a Time.</p><p></p><p>When Bomer was announced as a potential for the role, American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis <a href="http://www.thegayuk.com/magazine/4574334751/BRET-EASTON-ELLIS-SLAMS-MATT-BOMER-CASTING/3180000">slammed the choice because of the actor’s sexuality</a>, saying that it would be 'absolutely ludicrous' to give the role to Bomer.</p><p></p><p>'Okay. Let's finalise this. Matt Bomer is totally hot and a very good actor. He is NOT right for Christian Grey and it complicates the role,' he posted on Twitter.</p><p></p><p>The author, who has admitted to having relationships with both men and women added: ‘I don't care how good an actor you are but being married to another man complicates things for playing CG.'</p><p></p><p>He denied that his views were homophobic saying it was: 'about an intensely straight actor wanting absolutely to screw Ana Steele.'</p><p></p><p>Ellis had expressed an inclination to adapt the novel into a screenplay, but confirmed that he was no longer in the running for the project.</p><p></p><p>
