Two weeks ago, Irish drag queen Panti Bliss was invited to deliver the ‘Nobel Call’ on the stage of the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. Her powerful speech reignited the debate around homophobia in Ireland and spurred public expressions of support.

‘Oppression’, produced by Out!rage, samples the now iconic speech over an original house beat with an upbeat twist and has garnered widespread support from Senator David Norris, the Union of Students of Ireland, SIPTU, Mr Gay Ireland and many others both in Ireland and overseas. Panti (aka Rory O’Neil) is delighted with the response, “I couldn’t be more thrilled that Out!rage has found a way to turn my speech into something so catchy while supporting the fantastic work of BeLonG To at the same time. I thought I was too old for the dance music charts, but maybe not!”
