North Wales Pride is gearing up for the third Pride event in July! With only two weeks away till the doors are open, planning is in the final stages with tickets selling fast!

An X-Factor finalist will be among the headline acts at the gay pride event, which returns to Hendre Hall for a third successive year. Camping will also be available for those who would like to stay on site for the weekend festival.

Organisers of Cymru Pride have confirmed Misha B will perform during the festival in Talybont near Bangor, from Friday-Sunday, July 4-6.

Misha B’s breakthrough into the music industry came following her appearance on the X Factor in 2011 and in her first audition she sang Aretha Franklin’s cover of “Respect”. In a review of the series, The Daily Telegraph picked her performance of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” as one of the highlights of the series, saying she "oozed star quality from the start... Like a 21st century Grace Jones or an urban Lady Gaga.

Other artists joining the event will be Caernarfon's Alys Williams, who found fame on another singing talent show, The Voice, and up and coming act Kameelion who is originally from Y Rhyl.

Popular DJ Ed Mackie will also be in attendance along with host Crystal Bawls.

There will be an assortment of live music, stalls, food, family activities and workshops during the three days.

The gay pride event was started by a small group of people who aspire to make a difference and bring quality events of this kind to the North Wales area.

Cymru Pride chairman Carwyn Humphreys said: “The festival aims to bring the community together and break down barriers and reduce discrimination.

“This is the third year we've held the event and this year, it's going to be bigger than ever.”
