This year Hertfordshire Pride Society presents Herts Pride 2014 – We Are Family!

Pride, as opposed to shame and social stigma, An LGBT PRIDE event is the positive stance against discrimination and hatred towards lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people, promoting their self-affirmation, rights of equality, increase their visibility as individuals and a community, celebrating sexual diversity and gender variance.

Herts Pride 2014

This will be Hertfordshire second PRIDE event following the success of our first in 2013 and is a celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) life within the county and beyond. Hertfordshire is a County of Opportunity for all who live and/ or work here. The individual communities of the Boroughs, Cities and Districts that make up Hertfordshire are as diverse as they are individual of its peoples.

It will take place 30th August 2014 in Cassiobury Park Watford and will be a family fun day suitable for all ages and catering for Hertfordshire’s diverse community.

The theme for Herts PRIDE 2014 is “We Are Family”.

What can I see there?

There will be cabaret and other entertainment we will invite local talent to showcase what they are doing, from local bands to dance troupes, performances and styles and genres of music intended to have a broad appeal but the emphasis is about celebrating our LGBT community. Hertfordshire Pride will allow LGBT people to come together to celebrate their lives, make new friends, learn about the challenges of Queer Life and help other people gain a greater understanding of being LGBT.

The Hertfordshire Pride Society is a group of friendly, passionate, creative volunteers from the local lesbian, gay men, bisexual and trans* (LGB&T) community and their straight allies

The name of the society will be known as The Hertfordshire Pride Society and the annual Pride event will be called “Herts Pride”.
