FASHION: Summer Street Style: Shorts

<p>With possibly the latest Summer ever, we need to take full advantage of the good weather while it’s here…and get our legs out!</p> <p><a href="http://www.thegayuk.com/jackbaxter">by Jack Baxter</a> | 19th June 2013</p><p></p><p> </p><p><img src="http://www.thegayuk.com/communities/8/004/009/928/388/images/4594220347.jpg" width="460" height="677" alt="Jack Baxter" title="Jack Baxter"/></p> <p></p><p>Unlike the majority fashion decisions, finding the right pair of shorts is actually one of the more simple ones. It’s basically a case of deciding how short is ‘too short’. Long board shorts seem to, thankfully, have died a death and ‘short-shorts’ are becoming more and more acceptable for all men. Yay!</p><p></p><p> </p><p><img src="http://www.thegayuk.com/communities/8/004/009/928/388/images/4594220345.jpg" width="460" height="681" alt="Jack Baxter" title="Jack Baxter"/></p> <p></p><p>As always, there is a great selection to choose from this season. Nautical stripes in a variety of thicknesses are a strong look in both casual and more tailored styles of short. Wear a pair of tailored shorts with a clean, white shirt and blazer and some brogues or loafers for a really chic look, that has been seen this year at London Collections: Men.</p><p></p><p>Tie-dye is making a massive come back too this summer. I’m not usually a fan of tie-dye as a general rule but, I have been pleasantly surprised by the psychedelic colours that are running through the different collections. However, if colour isn’t your thing, try one of the monochromatic tie-dyes that are emerging, this year, as a twist on that 1960s classic.</p><p></p><p>Speaking of classics, denim is not to be ignored. Each year I go shopping for my summer wardrobe, but the one thing that is always on the list is Denim Shorts. They are incredibly versatile and comfortable. My advice when choosing a pair of denim shorts is try and go for a mid blue coloured pair, they will go with so much more. </p><p></p><p> </p><p><img src="http://www.thegayuk.com/communities/8/004/009/928/388/images/4594220348.jpg" width="460" height="683" alt="" title=""/></p> <p>And finally, chino shorts are another strong look for summer. Chino shorts, like the Denim, are another classic. They are comfortable and can be dressed up or down for each occasion. The other great thing about chino shorts is that they are a great way of experimenting with this seasons key colours.
