Twenty-two and going strong. All together different!

DiversCité Montréal 2014

Divers/Cité is an event whose mission is to present an arts and music festival that illustrates and celebrates the value of diversity in a spirit of sharing, solidarity and openness with the world.

The 2014 edition, from July 28 to August 3, invites you to become one of the many tourists and local visitors who vibrate to the rhythm of Divers/Cité’s unique programming and to discover a series of incredible outdoor and indoor events awaiting visitors in the Old Port of Montreal and elsewhere in the city!

As well as celebrating the annual return of La Grande Danse, one of North America’s largest outdoor House music demonstrations, the 2014 edition will be filled with many new surprises and also promises to be one of the greenest Divers/Cité ever, with the grand opening of our brand new stage on Bonsecours Island.

In a continued and collective effort to reduce the festival’s ecological and carbon footprint, we strongly encourage visitors to follow the recycling instructions indicated on site and to favor sustainable means of transportation on their way to and back from the festival.

Brief history of Célébrations de la fierté LGBT de Montréal

Divers/Cité organized the first Montréal LGBT pride celebrations in 1993. From that point and until 2006, Divers/Cité was comprised of three parts: the pride parade, the community fair and the arts and music festival. Following welcomed and increasingly positively views towards LGBT peoples and communities within contemporary society and after analyzing on-site client research, Divers/Cité’s organizing committee moved forward with a vision to create two distinct public LGBT events in Montréal: one event concentrated on community development and the other, a full-fledged arts and music festival. Divers/Cité is very proud to have produced Célébrations de la fierté LGBT de Montréal for 14 years and as such contributed to the evolution and strength of the LGBT movement.
