Katie Hopkins, who came runner up to Katie Price in Celebrity Big Brother, has often maintained that it is her ambition to become a gay icon, has received the thumbs up from openly gay singer Kavana.

When asked if Katie could achieve her dream of becoming a gay icon, Kavana said, “oh course, she was wearing Hot Pink and American tan tights last night…”

Katie, the controversial former Apprentice Star went into the Celebrity Big Brother house as the ‘most hated woman in Britain’ however managed to win over millions of fans, achieving second place to Katie Price.

Kavana also backed Alexandra O’Neal after he used an anti-gay slur against Perez Hilton, before removing himself from the Big Brother house earlier in the series. He called Perez a “silly assed f*ggot”.

Speaking on This Morning last week he said, “I’m gay. [O’Neal] didn’t make homophobic remarks,” Kavana said. “It just came out, but he was pushed and pushed and pushed.

“When someone is sat opposite you doing certain things – I won’t go into the action Perez did – but I think he was wise and clever to walk and not put up with it any more. I respect him for that.”

Kavana also said that he was planning to work with Alexander on some new material as well as being the wedding singer at Katie Prices forthcoming wedding.

Gaydio, the UK’s only radio station for gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans people has announced that it is part of a bid to launch nationwide on DAB Digital Radio. Last week bids closed for a second UK-wide DAB multiplex, known as Digital 2, which will carry 18 new stations.

The station is part of a bid by Listen2Digital, one of two consortia competing for the licence.

Station Director Toby Whitehouse says “We know that people already listen online from Penzance up to Inverness, so making the station accessible via their home and car radios is hugely exciting”

Gaydio started life as a pop-up station to support Manchester Pride in 2006 before launching full-time in 2010 on an FM licence for Manchester. In 2013 the station re-launched following the acquisition of DAB Digital Radio licences for London and the Sussex Coast that had previously been operated by Gaydar Radio. Since then, the station has trialled temporary broadcasts in Liverpool and Central Scotland in preparation for launching nationwide.

Gaydio has around 850,000 listeners per month, making it the world’s largest LGBT radio station.

Ofcom is expected to announce the successful bid in Spring 2015, with the new service launching in the first half of 2016. Digital radio listenership is increasing in the UK, with new figures from RAJAR showing that 52% of the population now tune in to digital radio every week. Listen2Digital aims to reach 81.5% of the UK population with its new network. In the meantime, Gaydio is available across London and Sussex on DAB Digital Radio, on 88.4fm in Manchester and online or via the station’s mobile app everywhere else in the world. Details of the bid are available at listen2digital.co.uk and the station is asking listeners to support the bid by letting Ofcom know the importance of a nation-wide service for LGB&T people.

A man has shared his dismay after being told by doctors that he only has a finite number of ejaculations before he permanently loses the ability to get an erection.

A thirty-four-year old man has shared his horror after learning that he only has ‘one hundred’ ejaculations left before a rare medical condition, which causes a build up of scar tissue in the penis, will render it un-erectable.

Writing in BroBible the man known only as R.L.S has said that doctors call the condition idiopathic fibrosis of the corpora cavernosa, meaning every time the man gets an erection, it causes an autoimmune reaction, causing a build up of scar tissue. Over time it will mean his penis will not be able to get erect.

R.L.S wrote: “I have a finite amount of real, working, orgasm-capable erections remaining. They estimate I have about a hundred [orgasms] left.”

In front of a star-studded audience in London’s Royal Opera House newly married STEPHEN FRY oversaw an evening that brought it’s share of surprises and some very well deserved winners. The unstoppable EDDIE REDMAYNE picked up yet another BEST ACTOR AWARD for his powerful performance in THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING, also named BEST BRITISH FILM, and this time Professor STEPHEN HAWKINS the man he portrayed was in the audience. Equally satisfying was JACK O’CONNELL’s RISING STAR AWARD after a rather sensational year starring in STARRED UP, “71, and Angelique Jolie’s UNBROKEN.

The big winner of the night was Wes Anderson’s THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL picking up 5 craft BAFTAS, and a delighted Laura Poitras picked up the BEST DOCUMENTARY AWARD for her stunning movie CITIZENFOUR. We are also proud of the fact that the movie PRIDE, the true story of gay activists who stood shoulder to shoulder with Welsh miners during the strike of 1984/85 won a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. Stephen Beresford accepting the award said that took him twenty years to persuade anyone the story’s elements, “were the ingredients for a sure fire comedy smash”. He added, “We do incredible things when we stand together – unite.”

The writer and gay activist LARRY KRAMER is to be honoured by Gay Men’s Health Crisis the volunteer AIDS Organisation he helped found in 1981.

Disagreement caused by Kramer’s confrontational style however led to his resignation, and he left to then help set up ACT UP as a more direct action alternative. The whole traumatic period was dramatized by Kramer in his award winning play THE NORMAL HEART that was adapted into a movie last year.

Mr Kramer, now in very frail health, has been named the first recipient of the LARRY KRAMER ACTIVISM AWARD which GMHC has established to recognise advocates who reflect Kramer’s ‘spirit, passion and fearlessness’. GMHC co-chair Roberta Kaplan also added that its also an attempt ‘to bring a sense of closure and healing’ between Kramer and the group.

80-year-old Mr Kramer is also the subject of the first ever documentary of his life ‘LARRY KRAMER : IN LOVE AND ANGER’ that premiered at Sundance recently, and will be screened on HBO in the US in June and on UK TV later this year.
