Student journalist, Sandra Pransky (Scarlett Johansson) gets sucked into a web of intrigue when she is chosen to be the disappearing woman during a stage show by magician, Splendido (Woody Allen). A recently deceased journalist (Ian McShane) appears and leads her to pursue a handsome British aristocrat (played by Hugh Jackman) who may be a serial killer.
