A new series of short documentary films from Jewish News have been released, which look into the world of being Jewish and LGBT.

The film explores the UK Jewish LGBT community’s ongoing struggle for broad acceptance among Anglo-Jewry.

Following international Pride month and the UK’s legalisation of same-sex marriage, our special report confronts a controversial topic within the Jewish community. While Liberal Judaism led religious groups in advocating same-sex marriage, Orthodox Judaism remains resolutely against the move.

The film features provocative perspectives from Surat Knan, founder of pioneering Jewish LGBT archive Rainbow Jews, Allan Davis, the founder of Jewish LGBT dating site HotSaltBeef and Rabbi Alan Plancey, a leading rabbinical figure in the UK, who offers a mainstream Orthodox standpoint.
