The First Surrey Pride Festival and BBQ was held at Sullivan Hall on 152nd Street in July 1999. This was a small community event with a dance on the Saturday night before, while hosting a small festival with BBQ, entertainment and a few booths on the Sunday.

The OIS Rainbow Cultural Society (OIS) played a significant role in fundraising specifically for GLBT charities, awareness and advocacy for GLBT rights in Surrey and the Lower Fraser Valley. OIS was born out of the social group “Out In Surrey” which hosted a Valentine’s day dance in January 1998 as a fundraiser for the Bigots Ban Books Defence Fund. OIS created the Gay Surrey Titleholders, The Barony of Surrey/Delta, The Imperial Sovereign Court of Surrey, Empire of the Peace Arch and the Surrey Youth Alliance. In January 2008, EPAMA (Court of Surrey) and the Surrey Youth Alliance both branched out into their own organizations and OIS kept the mandate to promote and produce the annual Surrey Pride and Festival.

Our Pride Festival moved to Holland Park in July of 2010 and in 2014 we will be celebrating our 5th year there and our 15th Anniversary Pride.

Surrey Pride is committed to expanding and being more inclusive in the GLBTQ Community and working with other organisations towards all inclusive PRIDE Events throughout the year and during the Festival at Holland Park each July. All for Pride ~ Pride for All

Please join us for the 15th Annual Surrey Pride Festival, Sunday July 6th from 12 noon to 5pm at Holland Park.
