PRIDE: Boy Band Blue To Headline Glasgow Pride

As Media Sponsors of Glasgow Pride, TheGayUK is excited to announce the headline acts who include boy band Blue, Heather Peace, Lucy Spraggan and Amelia Lilly. All the stars are gathering to help celebrate the cities 18th birthday. This is one Pride not to miss.

Pop sensations Blue have been in the industry over fourteen years with 3 number one singles and 3 number one albums will headline the summers event. Appearing alongside Blue as part of the celebrations will be singer songwriter and actress Heather Peace best known for her roles in Glasgow productions Waterloo Road and Lip Service, X-factor stars Lucy Spraggan and Amelia Lilly and dance legend Angie Brown.

Heather Peace said: “I’ve spent so much time working in Glasgow over the years that I’m always excited to be heading back there. Congratulations to Scotland for passing the equal marriage bill, let’s all have a big celebration about it at Pride.”

Other acts that will be featured include Scottish comedian Karen Dunbar, Showsteps tribute act Steptastic and Scottish Piping Rock Band Bags of Rocks.

Pride Glasgow Chief Executive Alastair Smith said “Pride Glasgow 2014 marks 18 years of pride events in Glasgow and this line up really adds to the celebrations that we have planned.”

2014 marks 18 years of Pride events in Glasgow and Pride Glasgow announced major changes to the festival this year including a move to ticketing the event and the establishing of the Pride Fund a new charity grant scheme aiming to support the LGBT community at the grassroots level with £1 from each ticket sale being put into the fund. This year’s event also moves to a new location within King Street in the heart of the city centre.
