(GayWebSource.com) MIAMI BEACH – September 16, 2013 – Proving that “Pride” is a feeling expressed year-round by the South Florida LGBTQ community, Miami Beach Gay Pride will host “Soirée,” a VIP cocktail reception and silent auction, to raise funds to help produce next year’s Pride parade and festival, April 11 – 13, 2014. Created by popular local promoter Edison Farrow who is the Marketing Chair for Miami Beach Gay Pride, “Soirée” will take place Saturday, October 19, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the rooftop of the Gale South Beach & Regent Hotel.

The “Soirée” host committee reads like a “Who’s Who” in South Florida. Lending their bold-face celebrity to the event are Lea Black of Bravo TV’s “Real Housewives of Miami;” Craig Stevens, WSVN-TV anchor; David Bernard, CBS4 chief meteorologist; Nestor Paz from SBS Radio and Mega TV; Richard Jay-Alexander, Broadway Director/Producer; Matti Herrera Bower, Miami Beach Mayor; Michael Gongora, Miami Beach Commissioner; Enrique Santos from Univision Radio; David Pulley from Style Network’s “Hot Listings Miami;” and Rodiney Santiago from Logo TV’s “A-List: New York.”

Also lending their talents to the fundraiser are several prominent artists who will contribute works of art for the silent auction. “Soirée” contributing artists include W. Andre Allen, Pal Stock, Susan Feliciano, Laz Lmnoq, Beatricia Sagar, Havi, Jose Pinto and Frank Ciliberti.

“The essence of Miami Beach Gay Pride is that it’s a celebration of the LGBTQ community, for the LGBTQ community and our allies,” said Joel Stedman, Pride’s Board Chair. “As the event’s popularity and participation have grown exponentially in five short years, so have the expenses to produce it. We’re committed to keeping Pride a free event for the community and fundraisers throughout the year like ‘Soirée’ will help us achieve that commitment.”

Cocktails for “Soirée” will be provided by Herradura, Pavon and Ripe Bar Juice. Catering will be courtesy of Dolce Italian at the Gale.

Tickets for the event are $100 with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Miami Beach Gay Pride. Tickets are on sale now at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/466241.

Since its inception five years ago, Miami Beach Gay Pride has grown from a neighborhood event to an event on the global stage with A-list performers like Adam Lambert last April. Attendance has grown as well. An estimated 15,000 spectators turned out for the first Pride parade in 2009; an estimated 80,000 attended the 2013 event which attracted not only South Floridians, but also visitors from throughout the world. In addition to Parade onlookers, last April’s event included 66 parade entries and 1,200 participants. The Pride Festival which followed featured 125 LGBT-friendly vendors and businesses, plus refreshments, two stages of entertainment, a family-friendly play area and fireworks.

The mission of Miami Beach Gay Pride is to bring together members and allies of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in celebration of the unique spirit and culture of the LGBT community. The all-volunteer Pride board produces safe, quality, mass-appeal events that are open to the entire community, including the Parade, Festival and allied Miami Beach Gay Pride sanctioned events. Miami Beach Gay Pride is produced with the support of the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority.  For more information, visit www.miamibeachgaypride.com.
