Point Foundation (Point) is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) students of merit. Its mission is to empower promising LGBTQ students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential—despite the obstacles often put before them—to make a significant impact on society.

Since its founding in 2001, Point Foundation has invested more than $18 million in the education and support of its Point Scholars. Point promotes academic excellence and leadership development through a unique platform, having created an “inter-generational family” that networks exceptional young people with successful LGBTQ and straight ally professionals who are noted leaders in their areas of expertise. In addition to scholarship funding, Point Foundation provides each of its scholars with mentoring, leadership development and community service training; all delivered via a dedicated staff, a large national network of leadership volunteers, and an active group of Point Alumni. Together, these efforts help each Point Scholar reach their full potential and improve the world around them.
