The California LGBT Health and Human Services Network is a statewide coalition of non-profit providers, community centers, and researchers working collectively to advocate for state-level policies and resources that will advance LGBT health. We strive to provide coordinated leadership about LGBT health policy in a proactive, responsive manner that promotes health and wellness as part of the movement for LGBT equality.

Program Coordinator

Position Summary:
Health Access seeks a dedicated and energetic candidate to take a leadership role as the Program Coordinator for a campaign to reduce tobacco-related health disparities with the California Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health & Human Services Network (CA LGBT HHS Network). The CA LGBT HHS Network is a statewide coalition working to advance LGBT health. This position will specifically work on a project of the CA LGBT HHS Network to reduce LGBTQ tobacco-related health disparities through education, outreach, media, and systems changes.

The Tobacco Program Coordinator will be a skilled coalition organizer and policy advocate. Strong communication skills, work ethic, and passion for LGBTQ health and equity is essential.  Candidates must be able to work within a team, have proven leadership ability and experience handling a great deal of responsibility. Strong self-direction and the ability to take initiative are also necessary qualifications.

The position can be based in either our Sacramento or Los Angeles offices with occasional travel to other parts of California, including overnight trips, and will be directly supervised by the CA LGBT HHS Network Director based in Sacramento.

Communications Associate

Position Summary:
Health Access Foundation seeks a Communications Associate for the California Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health and Human Services Network (CA LGBT HHS Network), a statewide coalition working to advance LGBT health. The position will assist in developing and coordinating Health Access’ statewide communications strategies and coalition communications with a focus on digital media technologies. This includes targeting, planning, coalition building, working with policy staff and supporting organizers in efforts to build Health Access’ advocacy and organizational capacity via web and email-based programs to advance the dynamic CA LGBT HHS Network policy agenda. Excellent communication, motivational skills, work ethic, and a passion for healthcare policy are essential.
The position can be based in any of Health Access’ office locations in Sacramento, Oakland, or Los Angeles, and will be directly supervised by our CA LGBT HHS Director based in Sacramento.

Organizer

Position Summary:
Health Access Foundation seeks an Organizer for the California Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health and Human Services Network (CA LGBT HHS Network), a statewide coalition working to advance LGBT health. The position will assist in developing and coordinating Health Access’ statewide organizing strategies. This includes planning events, recruiting new Network members, and build Health Access’ advocacy and organizational capacity by connecting new and existing members to opportunities to engage in and advance the dynamic CA LGBT HHS Network policy agenda. Excellent communication, interpersonal, motivational skills, work ethic, and a passion for addressing LGBTQ disparities are essential.
The position can be based in any of Health Access’ office locations in Sacramento, Oakland, or Los Angeles, and will be directly supervised by the CA LGBT HHS Network Director based in Sacramento. There will be some travel throughout the state to the various regional offices.
