The Associate Director of Medicine (ADM) collaborates with the Director of Medicine in providing clinical and administrative leadership and vision to Callen-Lorde’s medical practice, particularly to the primary care service. The ADM assists the Director of Medicine in managing the professional, organizational, and administrative aspects of the quality of care provided to Callen-Lorde patients. In addition this role will provide direct supervision to a group of Medical Providers and support the orientation and onboarding of all new Medical Providers. This role will also provide input into the development of electronic medical record templates as well as the overall functionality and regulatory compliance of the EMR. This position will also provide direct quality, sensitive patient care on a part-time basis (five sessions weekly) documenting care promptly and following charting protocol and applicable NYS licensing requirements. The ADM will maintain a small panel of primary care patients, provide coverage when other Medical Providers are out of the office as well as working in the Urgent Care and Sexual Health Programs.

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. This position requires weekly evening and occasional weekend and on call coverage. Salary will depend on experience and will be accompanied by an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short term & long-term disability insurance, life insurance, Paid Time Off, and 403B plans. 

Qualifications

  • York State-Licensed Physician Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Practice.
  • Certification as an HIV Specialist highly preferred.
  • At least three years of clinical experience in an outpatient medical setting required; Experience providing primary care and HIV/AIDS- related care is required.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to community based health care services and the mission of Callen-Lorde.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of LGBT health related concerns.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred.
