Girlie Circuit Barcelona

August 11, 2015toAugust 16, 2015

Girlie Circuit Festival began to take shape six years ago in response to the needs of a concerned international lesbian scene that began to demand new entertainment options apart from the traditional ones that had been associated with the lesbian audience.

Increasingly, women asked for quality entertainment that would match in quality and quantity to the gay and heterosexual public offer. Summarizing, we wanted an event where we could all find our own place and feel comfortable, regardless of age, style and musical tastes.

And, until then, in Europe there had been an obvious gap in terms of a leisure and holiday quality offer that was able to satisfy the expectations of an audience that, increasingly, was as diverse as demanding.

With the conviction that we had the necessary capacity and structure to offer to the gay community a comprehensive leisure option as respectful to their needs and preferences as capable to satisfy their expectations, Girlie Circuit Festival Barcelona was born, which is the biggest cultural and leisure international festival for lesbians in Europe.

Christopher Street Day Dresden CSD 2015

May 30, 2015toJune 7, 2015

CSD DresdenChristopher Street Day Dresden (Dresden eV CSD) We, the Christopher Street DayeV, see ourselves as the voice of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans identical to those in Dresden and Saxony, and thus as a catalyst to eliminate current shortcomings, such as the still existing discrimination aforementioned groups of people in, for example, politics and society. Dresden, Germany.

Christopher Street Day Dresden CSD 2015Christopher Street Day Dresden CSD 2015

The CSD (Christopher Street Day) Dresden is this year’s theme: 100% human, no ifs and buts.

The, also for us, inevitable “view over the garden fence” clearly shows that racism, discrimination, sexism or rejection not only “us”, the LSBTTIQ 1 community, but all meet and jede_n (can).

Whether thick, thin, old, young, big, small, female, male, no matter how-Sexual, white, non-white, people of color restriction-free, handicapped, German, foreign, rich or poor; Everyday and / or constructed discrimination have probably taken jede_n before. 2

Let us not deceive ourselves: Who still believes all this did not concern him, because even does not apply to him the problem of exclusion / contempt of sticking his head in the sand. What is wrong with our country where “gay” is THE swearword still, whether, in schools, at work or in sports clubs The loss of respect and respect for the individual and the company is looking away in an unacceptable condition.

Many democratic parties, social forces, public institutions and associations complain consistently the major problem of the precarious social imbalance. If they think are really serious and are interested you need to solve the problems also want. You are encouraged to become active in their legislative, social and educational responsibility. We expect them to act quickly and decisively now!

However, we can not expect that all our problems “from above” to be solved and thus also call for more determination and self-responsibility of each individual to.

Let sit at this year’s demo, the street festival, the Rainbow brunch and in the CSD week together a numerous and extra colorful (rainbow) sign AGAINST indifference and looking away and FOR more equality, respect, love and acceptance! All are 100% human. No ifs and buts!

1 The abbreviation LSBTTIQ stands for the individual directions in the diverse Rainbow Community – lesbian (L), gay (S), bisexual (B), transgender (T) transsexual (T), intersex (I) queer (Q) ,

2 The list of little victims of discrimination is intentional and is used for visualizing particularly strongly affected groups.

Executive Director Lesbian Political Action Committee

Lesbian Political Action CommitteeNew York, NY

LPAC, the nation’s lesbian Super PAC, seeks a dynamic, motivated leader with significant fundraising and political experience to serve as its first executive director. The successful candidate will have experience leading an enterprise through strategic change and attracting the financial and human resources necessary to implement those strategies. By expanding LPAC’s political, fundraising, and policy reach, the right candidate will drive LPAC to the next level, firmly establishing its status as a leading LGBT PAC and a voice for lesbians in American politics.

Executive Director Lesbian Political Action Committee

LPAC was formed in July 2012 by a group of committed activists and donors. After decades of being a small subset of players in women’s and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights, lesbians needed a vehicle to positively influence the current political and social landscape. LPAC has emerged to get lesbians and our allies organized like never before. Our one aim remains to give lesbians a real and meaningful voice in politics.

Since its launch, LPAC has raised over $1 million to elect candidates and support campaigns that embody LPAC’s values. LPAC receives donations at many levels, a majority of which come from grassroots donors contributing under $100. Unlike other Super PACs that are funded by a few wealthy individuals, LPAC is a political movement bolstered by many.

In addition to targeted political work, LPAC also works to transform policy, tackling the myriad challenges facing lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LBT) women today. In 2013, LPAC hosted its first annual Summit in Washington, D.C., bringing together over 100 LPAC supporters, prominent politicians, and advocacy heads to address policy issues central to LBT women and our families.

This is just the beginning. LPAC has learned that our targeted, state-by-state approach produces real results. And LPAC’s growth in size, influence and resources over the past two years has demonstrated that our community can and will meaningfully impact the political process.

Executive Director Lesbian Political Action Committee

Position Overview

LPAC’s first executive director will head the charge to grow LPAC as a political influencer, reach more women, elect more LPAC-supported candidates, and raise the resources to excel. The executive director will be responsible for building out and branding LPAC. With input from the Board, she will determine key operational and administrative positions and create a support team poised to bring LPAC and the women it represents to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all programmatic management, operations, budget creation and financial management.
  • Guide fundraising, including cultivating high dollar support and collaborating with fundraising staff to build out and implement fundraising plan.
  • Envision and execute high impact-event planning in conjunction with other fundraising.
  • Represent LPAC’s public face as media spokesperson.
  • Represent LPAC at key tables, in coalitions and meetings with outside organizations.
  • Develop and strengthen LPAC’s political program by continuously engaging candidates, allied organizations, elected officials, and political parties.
  • Write, develop and implement national campaign plan, state and federal campaigns, issue and referenda campaigns.
  • Integrate political work into the larger strategy of LPAC, leading political strategy development and implementation.
  • Work with LPAC Board chair to implement strategic and high-profile Board recruitment and management.
  • Work with Board on strategic planning, budgeting and financial management.
  • Lead hiring of all professional and administrative positions for LPAC with input from Board.
  • Oversee legal PAC compliance.
  • Oversee new media strategies, list growth, marketing, and branding.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide leadership for LPAC staff, including consultants and contractors.

Qualifications

  • A proven strategic thinker with a record of success in a leadership and managerial position.
  • Demonstrated record of raising money from major donors and individuals as well as an appetite and aptitude for fundraising. Proven track record of achieving revenue targets of over $750,000 annually.
  • Dynamic public speaking and media experience. Excellent written and oral communications skills and an ability to articulate a vision that compels and inspires the public, donors, coalition partners, and government policymakers.
  • Extensive experience with the political process, elections, and PACs.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices required for the effective leadership and management of a nonprofit advocacy organization or PAC.
  • Communications experience and an understanding of the power and importance of social media.
  • Experience and facility with Board leadership and recruitment.
  • Familiarity with and passion for lesbian and transgender issues, as well as women’s rights and social and economic justice.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative. Ability to work well under pressure and handle several projects at one time.
  • Ability to work in a small team and fast-paced office environment.
  • Creative, innovative and occasionally unorthodox thinker and strategist.
  • Mission-driven and self-directed, with passion, integrity, and a positive attitude.

Happy Camper Badges

Happy Camper badges are equal parts whimsical, serious, self-deprecating, and ridiculous.  And, while playfully mocking at times, the badges represent the fact that humor is a great antidote to shame, fear and hate.  Therefore, our badges includes good deeds, dubious deeds and funny deeds.

Happy Camper Badges, a line of gay-themed satirical merit badges which can be earned for all sorts of gay achievements!

Happy Camper Badges

Happy Camper Badges

THE HAPPY CAMPER came to be as a result of an excessively tipsy foray into a live auction bidding war with a phenomenally fabulous 6’10” drag queen…

Following a very public trouncing at an over-the-top, circus-themed gay gala in San Francisco, our founder Stefanie ended up with a lesbian cruise package as a consolation prize and the Happy Camper concept was born. After years of living as a self-described “bad gay,” she was excited to “earn” her lesbian cruise badge. And earn she did!

Our founder Stefanie believes in giving back, therefore a portion of Happy Camper proceeds will go to causes that support LGBTQ youth!  Be proud and live loud!

Our badges are embroidered and come with a peel and stick backing.  You can proudly don your badge on a sash, a bag, almost anywhere really.  Each badge comes with a collectable card noting how it is “earned” – but truthfully, we are ok if YOU declare how you earned it. Check out our selection – we bet you have earned at least one. And hey, you might see a few badges perfect for your partner, your pals, your bestie. Buy them a gift (unless you’re Frugal).

Happy Camper was proud to be a part of the One Community luncheon and expo! Angela Hughey and Sheri Owens created One Community in the fall of 2008.  ONE Community is an interactive web and events community for LGBT and allied individuals and businesses.

One of the most touching and inspiring moments was when the CHANGE Agent Award went to the Ham Family, for their amazing love and commitment to their 14 adopted children! Check out their story, you will totally cry and smile all at once! Like sunshine through rain these men have brought hope and beauty to the lives of these foster kids. They certainly earned the Family Values badge!

We joined many other businesses and individuals in celebrating diversity and ensuring workplace equality by signing the One Community Pledge. If you or your place of business has not yet taken the pledge you should!
