Filmfest homochrom – Filmfest homo chrome is one of the youngest LGBT film festivals in Germany, so but one of the biggest. It takes place in Germany’s gay capital Cologne and the Westphalian metropolis of Dortmund, Both part of Germany’s only megacity, the Rhine-Ruhr area.
The programs of the 5th Film Festival homo chrome has grown a bit yet again: 60 films from 21 countries in 26 program. This year we have sieved through-believe it or not-1,200 films (450 in 2014) in order to present to you the best and freshest film. We hope our work has been worthwile for you.
What’s special about our programs Is that none of the movies at the Film Festival has a German distributor at the moment. We can not tell you if you’ve get a chance to ever see them again in Germany (except for a few other festivals maybe). And if They Might become internationally available online, then probably without the German subtitles Which we create for Filmfest homo chrome. We work hard to offer-if possible-German subtitles for all feature and several short films. Whether or not you need German subtitles, the film festival is a rare opportunity to see many of the selected films.
While screening all the films for our consideration, we have spotted trend of intriguing, Which We like to take on: the growing exploration of LGBT in sports.There were several more documentary with this topic, but we’ve selected three visually appealing, informative as well as inspiring features, Which each concentrate on a different sport: OUT IN THE LINE-UP wirth surfing, IN THE TURN with roller derby and SCRUM with rugby. For the Latter two we have invited local teams to be our guests for the screening and talk about Their Sports afterwards.
Martin has been part of the jury of TLVfest # 10, the only queer film festival in the Near East, in June. He’s bringing back not only Their opening filmADDICTED TO FRESNO and the wonderful British sex comedy BONOBO so but the short film collection “DiscoverIsrael” and several of the jury award winners of TLVfest. Amongst These Are Two Very Special film worth seeing: the short film HOLE as well as our opening film MARGARITA, WITH A STRAW deal with the sexuality of people with disabilities and boast exceptional acting.
We chose the topic of this year’s Sundance Film Festival as our closing movie: The Wild Ride TANGERINE. Who sees it, does not quite believe Their Eyes thatthis film has been shot completely Call on smartphones.
But there is so much else to discover in between the opening and the closing film, so why not have a look at our programs.

We try to subtitles of all foreign-language film in German (OV). It might happen did a few films during the afternoon will be shown with English subtitles (English subtitles) or in the English original (OF). We keep you informed here and in the cinemas, though maybe on short notice.
Foreign-language short films will be subtitled in German or partly based on English (English subtitles, OF). For details see pages programs.
German-speaking films will be shown in the German original.
Audience Awards “Chromie” 2015
A festival is more than just watching movies, and for it to become more, there is a way to participate, eg by Deciding Which film will win the Chromies, the audience awards of Filmfest homo chrome 2014 Participating is so easy. Watch movies and vote !
You, the audience, will award the Chromies in two categories:
Long Chromie: in this category all feature films are nominated, ie fiction as well as documentary films with a running time of 40 minutes or more.Audiences rate the film after the screening on a scale from 1-6 and the film with the best average rating wins.
short Chromies: we have three competitive short-film program, a lesbian one, a gay one and a trans * / queer one. For each program audiences have one vote for the short film They liked best, and in each the short programs with the most votes wins.
