LGBT Music Video: I.K.P. – “Super-Trippy”

The Infamous King of Positivity returns with “Super-Trippy”, the first official single from his latest album “Executive Realness”, released on Veterans Day 2013, (no less a reference to his own Veteran status of the United States Marine Corps). The visual companion to the single features some of the most eye-catching, left-field, psychedelic and artful moving images in a music video in recently memory.

The music video was filmed in New York City and directed by Bronx photographer, Hec Farrulla for BPS Productions. Featured in the video are the talents of two of the dancers from the Rhythm City Dance Crew (Jake Pesquira and Stephanie Ramirez), plus 2 other talented, local dancers Roque Caston and Nichoel Jones.

The concept was born from a photo the director had taken of models, who took pictures covered in the florescent body paint. It was then settled that the photo should come to life.  The song itself is a bubbly track with distorted and pitched vocal exhortations throughout the track alluding to “trippiness” vibe and apparently leaving behind the “parasites and bottom-feeders” to escape into an alternate world resembling possible hallucinations akin to those of an acid trip. The lyrics in the verses amplify the concept with references to being under the influence and scenarios that come with that experience.
