Rules For Business / Organization Accounts

If you are a business or organization you’re welcome to make an account and use our site, but you must follow our rules.

If you follow the rules on this page you can Post Your Business In The Gay Business Directory and add links to your web site on your profile page.

Note: These rules are in addition to rules for private accounts.  You must also read the private account rules.  Your business must be LGBT themed or something of interest to our membership.

1.  You can not spam members.  You can not send unwanted private message or @ public messages to members, unless they have contact you first.  Let them come to you.  You are welcome to send friend request and send one message to introduce yourself when the accept your friend request.  If a user is sending you messages you can message then back as needed.

2. You can not post External Links anywhere on our site except in your profile area, with out having our prior permission first.  Do not post advertisements or promotions on your page.  You can post an ad in the business directory.  Look for the link in the top menu.

3.  If you post external links on your GayWebSource.com profile page, you must link back to www.gaywebsource.com from the page you are linking to.  See external link rules.

4.  You must have your profile complete and your logo uploaded as your profile photo.  If your brand is basically yourself, you can have a photo of yourself.  When editing your profile questions there is a second group of questions for business.  There is a place there you can add links to your web site and tell a little about your business or what you do.  When you are editing your profile look for the business group link above the questions.

External Links Rules:

If you are placing external links on your profile page you must link back to http://www.gaywebsource.com from the page you are linking to. We don’t charge you to place links on your profile page on our site so we ask for a link back from your site. You can link to our home page or any where on our site, even your own GayWebSource.com profile page. However, when we click on any external link that you have posted on our site we need to be able to see your link to GayWebSource.com We will not go searching for it. If you have not linked back we will remove your external links and suspend you from posting links on our site. The LGBT Campaign Account Manager (Digital) will help plan and execute the campaign’s digital media and social media strategies to reach LGBT young adults through national campaign efforts as well as local campaign events in targeted markets. Rescue SCG is currently in the planning and development phase of an innovative national campaign to prevent tobacco use among LGBT young adults. We are seeking to add a creative individual to this already fun and energetic team of social marketing professionals. Rescue SCG is a for-profit behavior change marketing agency. Clients include local, state, and federal government organizations as well as not-for-profits, schools, and foundations mainly addressing tobacco use, with growing services in violence, binge drinking, and obesity prevention. Rescue SCG provides services in strategic planning, research, and marketing to execute behavior change programs nationwide. Rescue SCG efforts are primarily focused on youth and young adult populations to cause behavior change through education, policy change and/or culture change. Rescue SCG’s annual sales have grown over 100% in the past 3 years and are expected to more than quadruple in the next 2 years thanks to new, secured contracts. The Rescue SCG team is creative, and challenging industry standards to develop effective and sustainable solutions to public health issues.

Position Description:

The LGBT Campaign Account Manager (Digital) reports to the Account Director for the LGBT Campaign, and is responsible for the day-to-day management of deliverables and reporting to the client, and acts as a liaison between Rescue SCG and the client. They assist in project planning and editing, and collaborate with Rescue SCG team members on campaign-related strategies and tactics. The job of the LGBT Campaign Account Manager (Digital) entails activities pertaining to, but not limited to:

Project/Campaign Management:

  • Collaborate with Rescue SCG team members to create campaign-related collateral, such as commercials, graphic design, web design, and social media following set protocol;
  • Work with Account Director to develop digital and social media campaign strategies;
  • Manage development of localized digital and social media tactics including solicitation and management of local subcontractors and influencers;
  • Assist with the creative development process for new ads and campaigns;
  • Assist in development and execution of local events strategy for the campaign in various targeted metropolitan areas across the US;
  • Provide timely reports on campaign progress to Rescue SCG staff and client;
  • Manage ongoing deliverables on a weekly basis;
  • Review, revise, and edit various deliverables and reports due to the client;
  • Assist in outreach to various campaign-related subcontractors and consultants;

Client Management:

  • Communicate directly with client daily;
  • Address client concerns while ensuring that implemented strategies follow Rescue SCG’s internal research recommendations;
  • Assist client with small projects that may or may not relate directly to the main campaign;
  • Provide weekly reports on meetings with client;
  • Assist in maintaining and growing client relationships;
  • Assist in managing client expectations based on what they want in a specific deliverable and providing realistic timelines to complete any given deliverable;
  • Assist in relaying creative changes from client to Rescue SCG’s creative team;
  • Assist in managing spending forecast with client.

Internal Processes:

  • Take detailed notes at meetings to convert to minutes and internal reporting;
  • Organize and manage calendars that includes coordination of meetings and important due dates for deliverables.

Minimum Age:

Must be 21 y/o or older

Environment:

Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and computer and Internet access. Must be available to work non-traditional hours such as late nights and weekends. All business-related environments are tobacco-free.

Physical Requirements:

Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients, coworkers, or attend meetings and seminars.

Travel:

Variable travel frequency, as often as multiple times per month depending on campaign activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree +2 years relevant experience OR 7 years relevant experience OR Master’s Degree;
  • Experience working with digital, social media and/or web teams;
  • Experience working in/with LGBT populations via campaigns, brands or organizations with dedicated projects to reach LGBT audiences;
  • Strong verbal communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and communicate with clients on delicate matters;
  • Strong editing/writing skills for various client reports, marketing materials, etc.;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to details;
  • Client management experience;
  • Experience in project management, account management, or program management;
  • Experience in a marketing and/or advertising company or department;
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Proven comfort with numbers to perform basic financial tasks;
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and executing special events which use social/digital media as part of the pre and/or post event outreach;
  • Experience with public health efforts;
  • Experience working with project management tools (Teamwork, Basecamp, Zoho, etc.);
  • Strong travel planning experience;
  • Experience managing sub-contractors and third-party vendors to execute events and campaign activities;
  • Proven ability to quickly identify and solve problems;
  • Ability to operate independently and manage projects from inception to completion;
  • Exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who can remain focused;
  • Non-tobacco-use is highly preferred because we only have tobacco-free environments and also to be consistent with our tobacco prevention campaign goals.

Training:

A comprehensive training would be provided to the selected candidate. The training will be conducted at a Rescue SCG office and paid for by RSCG.

Senior Accountant Lambda Legal

Senior Accountant Lambda LegalResponsibilities The Senior Accountant (SA) is responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation and analysis, report preparation and compliance duties.

The Senior Accountant obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the organization and its’ general ledger/chart of accounts structure. The SA prepares journal entries for revenue, expense, asset and liability accounts by identifying, compiling, and analyzing relevant information.

S/he analyzes and reconciles balance sheet and income statement accounts and resolves any discrepancies. They will prepare a variety of recurring and ad hoc financial reports to internal management and will participate in the organization’s annual financial statement audit by preparing schedules and analyses of general ledger accounts and will respond to auditor’s requests for information. The Senior Accountant will assist with compliance efforts by preparing various state regulatory reports and applications and maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. The SA will protect the organization by maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive information.

The SA will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Lambda Legal’s Accounts Payable process and serve as back-up for this function as needed. S/he will also assist with other accounting & administrative projects as requested.

The Senior Accountant will maintain knowledge of GAAP by participating in educational opportunities and/or professional organizations and reading professional publications. Other duties may be assigned.

There are currently no Supervisory duties associated with this position

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a bachelor’s degree with either a major in Accounting or a major in Business with an Accounting concentration, and have at least three years of experience in a staff-level accounting position. The Senior Accountant must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, as well as at least one automated accounting system. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, along with interpersonal and customer service skills. The ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines is required. Also, excellent problem-solving skills and judgment are necessary, as well as a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary Salary is commensurate with experience within the guidelines of Lambda Legal scale. Excellent employer-paid benefits package is provided including medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance and generous employer contribution to retirement account. Generous vacation.

Spearheaded by the NGLCC and launched in 2011, the mission of the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC) is to expand opportunities for diverse-owned businesses and enhance access to resources, contracting, education, and mentoring for entrepreneurs representing diverse communities. Together, these collaborating organizations represent diverse communities that account for more than nearly nine trillion dollars in consumer spending power and significant contributions to the marketplace and workplace.

This session will take a close look at cross-segment diversity and collaborative work among the leading charter members of the NBIC. The NBIC is a coalition of the nation’s leading business organizations representing diverse communities.

The NBIC includes the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC), the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC), the United States Business Leadership Network: Disability at Work (USBLN), and the United States Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAAC).

The GSDBA is San Diego’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and community supportive chamber of commerce. GSDBA’s mission is to promote business development to increase economic opportunities for our members, the LGBT community and all who support business equality.

The Greater San Diego Business Association seeks a visionary CEO with a significant and measurable track record in membership development; business or business development experience preferably with small businesses; 5 to 7 years in senior level administrative management or equivalent; significant experience working with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community; ability to provide value to our membership by growing our work linking business to business and business to consumer; and entrepreneurial experience in revenue generation opportunities. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership with the ability to motivate others and bring about consensus when appropriate; strong interpersonal skills with professional demeanor and leadership presence; strong verbal and written communication and listening skills’ customer- and member-service orientation; strong marketing skills with understanding of branding and consistent and compelling message development; culturally sensitive and ability to work effectively with diverse population of members, volunteers, civic leaders, and corporate and community representatives; demonstration of initiative, innovation, strategic thinking and follow-through; experience and strong ability to work with and support Board of Directors; ethical with strong sense of personal and professional integrity; public speaking ability; strong analytical skills; extensive knowledge in finance and budgeting; strong computer skills; and must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed. The CEO is responsible for the daily administration and good organizational management of GSDBA which includes but is not limited to membership development and relations, program development to serve members, public relations and marketing, sound management of all fiscal resources; supervision of all staff, and business operations in accordance with standard business practices. The CEO works with and supports the Board of Directors to define priorities especially through the strategic plan, builds and develops teamwork among Board members and other volunteer and member leaders, and ensures program and fiscal accountability. The GSDBA is San Diego’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and community supportive chamber of commerce. GSDBA’s mission is to promote business development to increase economic opportunities for our members, the LGBT community and all who support business equality.
